Turf Shield Window Film protects your artificial turf, natural grass, and vinyl siding by reducing the sun’s damaging reflection off of your home or business’s windows.

Turf Shield Window Film is an exterior applied perforated window film that is guaranteed to stop the melting of artificial turf, vinyl siding, natural grass, etc from window reflections.

Is Turf Shield Window Film protection (guaranteed) to prevent my artificial turf, siding, and patio furniture and other plastics that are of similar construction from burning?

YES! More than 15,000 Sq Ft of Turf Shield Window film(s) have been installed for the sole purpose of protecting the artificial turf from harmful reflections caused by windows, and in each instance, the problem is resolved. To our knowledge, Turf Shield Window Film 100% effective in eliminating turf melting

 Do window tinting films work?

Turf melting happens because the sun's solar rays are reflected off of the outside surface of windows, which means that any solution must be installed will increase the reflection and, as a result, increasing the intensity of the reflection caused.

Traditional window film, even when applied externally, actually increases the intensity of reflection. A dark black window film, applied to the outside of the glass can help reflect by absorbing the energy of the sun, but it will almost certainly break the glass because of how hot it will get.

The Turf Shield Window Film is 100% guaranteed to fix your reflective windows from melting. Turf Shield is also applicable for patio furniture, vinyl siding, vinyl fencing, and other like vinyl materials melted by the low E Window reflection.

Exterior Installation

All of our films are designed to be installed on the exterior side of the window. (Outside)

Pre-Installation Guidelines:

* Prior to installation of Turf Shield, we recommend attaching a small piece of Turf Shield window film to glass as a test to help you become accustomed to the film's characteristics, including adhesion strength.

* Glass surface must be clean. Use mild soap and water to clean the glass. Do not use glass cleaners with solvents (e.g., Windex®). Use 85% isopropyl alcohol, if desired, to remove any residue; allow it to evaporate completely before installing film.

* Surface must be completely dry. Use lint-free cloth or industrial paper towels to dry glass.

* Temperature of glass must be moderate —between approx. 40º F (5º C) and 90º F (32º C).

* In cold weather, apply film in late afternoon, after windows have warmed up. Applying film to glass that is too cold may adversely affect adhesion of film.

* In hot weather, apply film in the early morning, while glass is still cool. Applying film to glass that is too hot can cause the film to stretch during installation.

Installation Steps

Step 1

Lift the upper edge of the liner away from the film and fold back approximately 3-6 inches (depending on the size of the film).

Step 2

Carefully position the film so that it is properly aligned on all sides, then press the upper corners in place using light pressure.

Step 3

Using your hand or a soft plastic squeegee, lightly press the film in place.

Step 4

Working from the top of the film to the bottom, continue by peeling away more of the liner and applying light pressure to the film. Continue in this manner until the liner is completely removed and the window film is in place.

Step 5

Using a utility knife, carefully trim away any unneeded portion of the film.

Step 6

If you are installing more than one panel, follow steps 1 through 5 for each panel. Properly align each film in relation to the adjoining panel(s).

In the case of film that must be seamed together, install the two pieces so that the edges of the film butt against each other, with the holes aligned (don't overlap the two edges of the film).

Step 7

Finally, squeegee the film from the center and work outward in all directions. Be sure to squeegee the edges firmly in place.

 Step 8

Step back and admire your work!

Film worked to prevent grass melting in strips, however I think I didn't receive the full quantity. I only was able to cover one half of (2) windows, couldn't cover the 3rd. Thanks Jeff. 925-787-0114

Helpful Samples

We ordered Tuft Shield Window Film samples a couple weeks ago and they arrived very quickly and proved very helpful for us in deciding the best choice for our particular windows. We selected and ordered the film with the dark/black exterior as the best one for our application and are now looking to install this on 7 windows some time in the next week or so.

I was a bit skeptical about this film, I contacted the company via Facebook and they walked me through the different options. The black on black window film for turf was our choice and it looks great. We only did the side of the window without screens and it worked just fine. No more melted turf. Fast shipping and great customer service.

Artificial turf melts because of reflection bouncing off your windows, creating a concentrated light beam onto your synthetic turf.

Melting turf can cost homeowners thousands of dollars in repair costs. Turf companies are sometimes ill-equipped to identify the type of glass that will cause the damage.
